Using Michel de Certeau’s notion of ‘walking as a revolution’ Ian Devenney, Sara Udow & I took a 16km walk from downtown Toronto to York University campus; a commute that is commonly dreaded by all.
Since a revolution is both a revolt against some sort of current authoritarian system/force and a revolving, a turn that concludes in a transformation, the hope was to be (potentially) transformed in multiple ways through this walk. We also wanted to explore the in-between space of the commute and document its liveness.
